Value and number of winter sports-related travel claims double in two years
According to Sainsbury's Finance, the average cost of winter sports-related travel claims doubled in two years (47.6%). New step forward in the fight against uninsured driving
Latest estimates are that around 4% (around 1.4 million) of GB motorists drive uninsured. The penalty for driving without insurance is a maximum fine of £5,000 and 6-8 penalty points. Around 242,000 offenders are convicted for uninsured driving every year. New powers to tackle uninsured driving will come into force within months, Road Safety Minster Mike Penning has announced. Half of car and home insurance customers don't shop around
According to new research from Virgin Money, car and home insurance customers are willing to swallow over £1.5 billion a year in premium increases before they shop around for a better deal. The average insurance customer will accept an 8.13% across-the-board rise in their annual motor, home contents and buildings premium before they decide to switch to a more competitive deal.
