Motorcycle insurance company expands in the motorhome insurance market

Carole Nash was ranked as the UK’s 38th biggest UK insurance broker in August 2009 and employs over 300 staff in the UK and Ireland. It provides insurance for some 300,000 classic, vintage, modern, custom and off road motorcycles – around 20 percent of all licensed machines. It is also a leading player in the classic car sector.

Carole Nash has now hooked up to the motorhome insurance market, pledging to repeat the success it achieved in the highly specialist motorcycle insurance sector. Carole Nash says the move is a natural progression as the two markets, whilst on the face of it very different, actually share many characteristics and needs.

“Most people see cars as functional things, simply for getting from A to B. In contrast owners of motorcycles and motorhomes are both driven by passion and their vehicle is as much, if not more, about their lifestyle as it is transport,” explained Carole Nash’s head of marketing, Rebecca Donohue. “Their insurance needs are also specialised which means they need policies to match and knowledgeable staff to deal with. The latter is especially important should you need to make a claim. That’s when you really discover the value or otherwise your broker offers.”

She added: “Our aim is to replicate the experience we’ve enjoyed in the motorcycle sector by providing expertise and excellence to ultimately secure market leadership. We think we’ve really got something valuable, something different, to offer motorhome owners.”

Mrs. Donohue said that Carole Nash also saw a natural crossover between its motorcycle and new motorhome business through its activity in the off road and bike racing scenes. “We attend many grassroots biking events across the country and of course many competitors and spectators travel to them in motorhomes. Those people will already be familiar with us and what we stand for.”

The company has created a dedicated team which has been specially trained to understand and advise on motorhome insurance and claims.
